Last Friday, the East Coast got pummeled by a heavy nor’easter in which certain parts received between 10 to 24 inches. As a result of the storm, there were many school closings. Yards and streets were filled with fallen branches and some houses were destroyed by limbs and even entire trees. Power outages were widespread and Central Hudson workers had to labor around the clock in order to get electricity back to thousands of homes. Workers from Canada even came to help repair fallen power lines. Up to 10,000 people were affected.
As if nearly two feet of snow wasn’t enough from the first storm, only four days later the East Coast experienced another snow storm. Although not as extreme as the last, this storm brought more layers to the snow that had just started melting. It seems winter cannot end any slower.
