What’s an ESports team?
An ESports team is like any other sports team but these players play video games instead of traditional sports. They compete in tournaments and practice like any other sport but they don’t need to leave their school to play. There are many kids who would benefit from this program. There are many kids that don’t like traditional sports but have a love for video games.

An ESports team would give kids a new thing to do together. Just like traditional sports, ESports teach the team strategy and teamwork. In video games you can’t win without good communication and teamwork.

There are  some problems with getting a team. There are many different types of game this will make it hard to please everyone. Every game has a rating these ratings give a recommended age for the person playing the game the same way movies are rated. This could cause issues with kids needing approval from their parents.  There are some issues with getting a team as the equipment needed and there needs to be the internet block off for online games. You would need a decent computer or console for each team position this could get pricey.

No one is turned down in ESports. You might not make it to the main team but you can still practice and compete against the main team. There is hope to get an ESports team .by the time I graduate I hope to have started a team. Once the team graduates they can start their own team or help coach the new team without needing to go to school. This idea will open up new opportunities for so many people and I hope to make it happen. The benefits of having a team are that kids will build team building and can improve awareness of their surroundings.
An Esports team will have the same drawbacks as other sports which is equipment, space and finding other teams. With esports, there will be no need for transportation. Esports is a good opportunity for a lot of kids and could be a new beginning for the school.
Jack Motta stated that “Having an ESports team will benefit our school by giving the kids that dont like traditional hands on sports an opportunity to have an after school activity”

Dante Mason stated that “ Video games her not as bad as people think, they promote quick thinking and situational awareness”
